Brad Pitt's green New Orleans

Brad Pitt and a team of architects are pushing for new housing in New Orleans to be built "green," or environmentally friendly. Pitt said he was shocked at how slowly recovery/rebuilding efforts are moving in the city. Using renewable resources and solar power, among other strategies, a design contest was held in which a group of architects chose five finalists from a group of one-hundred twenty-six. Finalists will be revealed at global green. Pitt said, "There is a real opportunity here to lead the nation in a direction it needs to be going, and that is building efficiently." [reuters] [image]
